Vinita Sadhnani and Perpetual Rajaratnam successfully carried out July event of serving free meals to 60 kids of Don Bosco Orphanage, Mumbai.

On 5^th July, UBAT’s Executive Volunteers Vandana Sadhwani and Vinita Sadhwani, and team executed yet another event of project, “National Blind Association” in Nashik.  80 blind children were served sweets, biscuits, and banana.

 

Looking at the pictures of these beautiful kids you might not realize that they are deprived of one of natures’ most precious gift, the gift of seeing this amazing world.

 

India homes 15 million (1.5 Crore) blind people, which is 40% of total population of blinds all over the world.

 

Sadly, 75% of cases are avoidable blindness, which means they became blind due to lack of treatment, and medicines.

 

Please help the blind in whatever way you can- donations, pledging eye donations, promoting eye donation campaigns, anything you can.

This day marks one year from UBAT's Inauguration Day!!!  While UBAT was formed on 15th Oct, 2016; it did its inauguration on 10th June, 2017.  UBAT celebrated anniversary of that day by distributing free food to 75 kids of Vanicha pada, Mumbai.  The project was led by Rekha Patankar, with help of other volunteers- Nachiket, Divya, and Ved.

5th June, 2018

 

On 5^th June UBAT carried out a charity event at IC Women’s Association, Mumbai; feeding 60 children pav bhaji and chocolates.  The event was led by Executive Volunteer Vinita Sadhnani, and other volunteers including Neetu.

UBAT launches Gajarawadi, Nashik project with its first successful event on 14th May, 2018!!!

 

The event was led by Vandana Sadhwani and Vinita Sadhnani; provided Pav Samosa, Soan papdi, and biscuits to 150 poor and needy people of the village.

 

Last year in UBAT’s inauguration speech, Chief Guest Dr. Rekha Talmaki, a retired professor and a long time social worker, specializing in the area of empowering Tribal Women, had suggested UBAT to reach out to rural areas and serve. Gajarawadi project is a big milestone in that direction.

Another event-

In last 3 days UBAT successfully carried out multiple charitable events under old and new Projects!

 

Free foods were distributed amongst multiple disorder and blind people.  This was done by Vandana Sadhwani and Geetika Hemnani in Nashik.  The event took place on 26^th April.

 

Vandana and Geetika carried out similar event at Nirikshan Gruh and Balgruh, Nashik; feeding 70 less fortunate children.  Free food comprised Samosa, Banana, Melon and buttermilk.  That was on 27^th April.

 

Perpetual Rajaratnam carried out one more episode of feeding 60 orphans of Don Bosco Orphanage, Borivali, Mumbai.  Usal pav, one of Mumbai’s favorite dishes was served with Banana.  The event took place on 26^th April.

 

Rekha Patankar, along with her son Nachiket, and other volunteers Aarti, Divya, and Sanika carried out April’s episode of free fruit distribution at Vanicha pada, near Aarey Milk Colony, Mumbai.  65 poor kids were served Watermelon, oranges, sweet lime, chickoo.

UBAT is honored to announce the successful completion of distributing free snacks to 102 kids for 10 days of Sports event in a municipal school; ‘Marathi School Number 1’ in Mumbai.

 

The project was executed by UBAT’s Executive Volunteer Rekha Patankar, who is one of the teachers of that Municipal School for last 2 decades.

 

Sports is very important for all children.  Sports is important for both health and education of children.  Swami Vivekananda once said, ‘Religion is not for empty stomach’.  That’s a wonderful statement.  I would extrapolate that; and say, ‘Nothing makes sense for empty stomach.  Whether you want a kid to study, or take part in sports or other cultural programs; first feed them’.

 

Even today in about 600,000 villages, and thousands of municipal schools in cities, ‘free food’ is the driving factor, that makes the poor parents send their children to school.

 

UBAT’s heartfelt thanks to Rekha, Shalini Lohe, several girl guides, and everybody who worked hard for 10 days on this project.

On 12^th April, 2018 UBAT carried out a quick event of feeding 35 impoverished kids of Marve slum of Malad, Mumbai.  The event was executed by UBAT Volunteers, Smt. Raju Sadhnani, Sri Hari Sadhnani, and Ruchi Sadhnani.  Meal comprised of Puri-bhaji, Samosa pav, and butter milk.

UBAT’s first project to feed BLIND people…

 

UBAT completed its first FULL Tax Year on 31^st March’ 2018 with 3 Charitable events in the last 3 days!!!

 

On 29^th March, UBAT’s Executive Volunteer Vandana Sadhwani executed first event of project, “National Blind Association” in Nashik.  158 blind children were fed Ice cream, watermelon, oranges, and banana.   Vandana was assisted by other dedicated volunteers Neeta Chavan and Neeta Dhamija.

 

Vandana also executed one more event of yet another new project, “Aashi Foundation Slum Area”.  80 slum people were served Oranges, ladoos, and biscuits.  Free clothes were also distributed.  Vandana’s team comprised other dedicated volunteers- Poonam, Neeta Chavan, and Neeta Dhamija.  This event was in Nashik.

 

On 31^st March, Rekha Patankar successfully executed March event of Vanicha Pada (Aarey Milk Colony, Mumbai) project.  Rekha was assisted with her son Nachiket, and other volunteers- Devki, Aarati, Diya, and other Girl Scouts.  Special thanks to Devki, who managed most work.  Exceptional thanks to Nachiket for the beautiful pictures of the event!

UBAT announces with extreme joy the successful execution of the first event of project, ‘Padsad Karnabadhir Vidyalay’, school of hearing impaired students.  100 deaf students were served Samosa, Cupcakes, Ice cream, and Watermelon.  The event was beautifully carried out by UBAT’s Executive Volunteer, Vandana Sadhwani; along with Lead and other Volunteer Geetika Hemnani, Poonam, and Neeta.

 

Besides food, UBAT also distributed free clothes to the kids!!!  It was a day of joy for UBAT for this opportunity to do something for the needy.  UBAT’s heartfelt gratitude to Vandana and her team; and everybody helping us in our mission!!!

UBAT celebrated Women’s Day by distributing free fruits to 300 children in a municipal school in Mumbai.  The project was beautifully led by UBAT’s Executive Volunteer, Rekha Patankar, along with Nachiket, and rest of her team.  UBAT expresses its heartfelt gratification to all of you for beautiful event on auspicious International Women’s Day!!!

UBAT carried out free meals distribution event at Snehalaya in Mira Road, Mumbai.  Meals were provided to 48 mentally retarded children.  The project is led by UBAT’s Executive Volunteer Smt. Raju Sadhnani, with Lead and other Volunteers, Hari Sadhnani, Ruchi Sadhnani, and Neetu.

Free Fruits and Clothes distribution by UBAT

UBAT is rejoiced in announcing yet another monthly project! It’s a project to feed 125 orphan girls in a home called Adaharsham in Nashik.  The first event will take place this week; veg sandwiches and grapes will be provided.  The project will be led by Vandana Sadhwani; with Getika, Poonam, and Neeta.

 

With this one, UBAT now has 8 monthly projects, and 1 project every other month.  Smt. Raju ji will add one more monthly project of serving about 40 retarded kids.  Will that UBAT will have 10 recurring projects.

 

Thank you all for your generous support in helping mankind; which is the best way we all can grow and live together with kindness, love, and peace!!!

UBAT proudly announces its first charitable project in rural India!!!

UBAT’s Executive Volunteer Vandana Sadhwani, along with Getika Hemnani, Poonam Vig, and rest of her team successfully carried out free meal distribution to 600 kids in a school (Nutan Prathmik Vidyalaya) in Ambad village of Dindori, Nashik district.

The condition of the school is very poor.  There is no library, playground, or even benches in the school.  Children sit on floors in the classrooms.

UBAT will provide all possible help to equip this school to better its educational facilities.

UBAT is highly thankful to Vandana and her team for reaching out to this school, and serving these less fortunate children!

UBAT’s heartfelt thanks to its Executive Volunteer Smt. Raju Sadhnani and her team for successfully completing Ankur (Saint Anne’s Orphanage) Mira Road, Mumbai project of feeding dinner to 200 children.  UBAT will continue to conduct this project alternate months throughout going forward.

On 27^th Jan, 2018 UBAT served the kids of Chembur Children’s Home with snacks- Bhajias and breads, apples, grapes, etc.  This was the 6^th event at this Children’s Home since the project started mid of last year.  The project is led by UBAT’s Executive Volunteer, Geeta Tejnani, along with Rita Thakker.

UBAT’s heartfelt thanks to its Executive Volunteer Vandana Sadhwani for feeding 47 mentally challenged kids on an auspicious day such as India’s Republic Day.  It’s such a blessing.  The event took place at Gharkul Parivar Sanstha, Trimbak road, Nashik.    Other volunteers on the project were Getika Hemnani and Poonam Vig.

On 15^th January, 2018 UBAT successfully carried out year’s first event of free food distribution; which is part of Annapurna Brahman Project.  The event was led by Smt. Raju Sadhnani, along with Hari Sadhnani and Ruchi Sadhnani.  Around 80 kids of Saint Francis Orphanage were fed full meal, comprising various items such as Puri bhaji, dal rice, papad, usal, sweets.

On 30^th December, 2017 UBAT carried out the year’s last charitable event; distributing free meals to about 100 slum kids at Charkop, Borivali.  This event was led by UBAT’s Executive Volunteer, Smt. Raju Sadhnani, along with Hari Sadhnani and Ruchi Sadhnani.  Refreshments comprised veg puff, cake, chocolates, biscuits, and juice.

On 23^rd December, 2017 UBAT conducted free refreshment distribution to about 300 kids in Marathi School No. 1, at Aarey Milk Colony, Mumbai.  The project was led by UBAT’s Executive Volunteer Rekha Patankar, along with Nachiket, Nikita, and Divya.

On 20th December, 2017 one more event was successfully celebrated by UBAT.  This event was led by UBAT’s Executive Volunteer, Vinita Sadhnani, along with Babita Sadhnani, Perpetual Rajaratam, Jyoti, Bharti, and Ritu. Free meals were distributed to 80 kids in I.C. Women Welfare Association Community, Borivali.  Meal comprised Biryani, Raita, Cake, Chocolates, etc.

On 20th December, 2017 Saint Francis School Orphanage – free meal distribution charitable event was successfully carried out by UBAT team led Smt. Raju Sadhnani, along with Hari Sadhnani and Ruchi Sadhnani.  After feeding 60 kids in the orphanage, the team also distributed another 60 meals to street kids.

UBAT conducted free entertainment program and snack distribution at GVS Mandal [Gareeb Vidyarthi Sahayak Mandal].  Main entertainer was Romi, along with Prakash Pawar.  Main entertainment was song and dance sequence on Bollywood.  The event was led by UBAT’s Executive Volunteer, Geeta Tejnani; along with Rita Thakkar, and Malti.  About 177 kids were present in the event; and everybody had a gala time!

On 29^th November, 2017 UBAT carried out free food distribution to 200 kids in Gareeb Vidyarthi Sahayak Mandal (GVC Mandal), Chembur.  The project was led by Executive Volunteer, Geeta Tejnani.

Another proud day for UBAT.  Abhay Dey, a resident of Canada, is now in India on a trip for his wedding.  On 22^nd November he celebrated his 30^th birthday by feeding about a 100 underprivileged kids in Mumbai.  Abhay not only sponsored the event, but also volunteered his Seva (Selfless service), which is the need of the current day and age.

The event was admirably organized and led by UBAT’s Executive Volunteer, Vinita Sadhnani.  This was Vinita’s hat trick project in this very month.  Just a week back Vinita celebrated Children’s Day (14^th November) carrying out an UBAT project of free food distribution to poor and needy kids.  UBAT is highly obliged to Vinita!

Back to Abhay Dey’s bhojan daan event; besides Vinita and Abhay, UBAT also takes the opportunity of thanking Abhay’s brother, Raja, Babita and other volunteers, who made this charitable event a great success!!!

 UBAT celebrated Children’s Day on 14^th November, 2017 by distributing samosa, jeelebi, patra, dokla, and chocolates to about 60 kids in Borivali’s Gorai slums.  The project was led by Executive Volunteer Vinita Sadhnani; with assistance from Babita and other volunteers.  This is Vinita’s second project in this very month; and a third one coming up on 22^nd!!!  Vinita is also geared up to start Gajarawadi, Nashik project very soon.  UBAT expresses its heartfelt gratitude to Vinita.

On Sunday, 24th September, 2017 UBAT successfully carried out its FIRST time Free Clothes distribution to poor and needy people in Aarey Milk Colony, Mumbai.  And, continued Free Fruit distribution, which had started in July this year. Thanks to UBAT volunteers- Apurva, Rekha, Ajit, and everybody. There is hardly any joy greater than sharing what we have with the poor and needy sections of our society. God bless UBAT and all.

Latest project kicked off- Fruits distribution to poor and needy!

 

On Sunday, 30^th July 2017 UBAT started a new project.  Every month UBAT will provide fruits to about 100 children and their families in Aarey Milk Colony, Mumbai.  These people live in Padas (backward zone, free land provided by government to these poor and needy people)

 

This is a huge step towards mankind of bringing joy and smiles on the faces of less fortunate children.  Many thanks to all UBAT volunteers- Apurva, Rekha, Ajit, Devaray, Geeta, Rita, and others. Thanks to Apurva in leading the project, Ajit for arranging UBAT stickers and fruits, Rekha for coordinating with Pada volunteer Sailesh and pada children; Devaray for overseeing and helping and supporting; Geeta and Rita for helping, supporting, and participating in this memorable charitable event 🙏 Thank you everybody.

UBAT’s latest project!

Today UBAT launched its latest project- feeding daily breakfast to children in an orphanage- Chembur Children’s Home.

Executive Volunteer Geeta Tejnani, along with Volunteer Rita Thakkar took initiative of this project.  UBAT is extremely thankful to them for giving this project a successful start.

On 23^rd June, 2017 Pradeep Muzoomdar, Vivek Kadkol, and Shashikant Shrimali met in Borivali, Mumbai to discuss UBAT projects.

 

Outline of the discussion was that Vivek will arrange to collect school text books from people as donations, and will deliver that to Rekha Patankar, who in turn will arrange to distribute amongst the poor and needy. Vivek will talk about that directly with Rekha, and work out finer details.

 

Shashi will chalk out details of a project to be carried out outside Mumbai city limits, such as in Palghar or nearby Palghar.  He will provide a detailed report on that to UBAT Steering Committee once his analysis is done.

 

The above project is in line with the suggestion of running projects outside city limits provided by Dr. Rekha Talmaki, Chief Guest at the function of UBAT inauguration on 10^th June, 2017.

Aarey Milk Colony Pada Project

 

On Sunday, 18^th June, 2017 UBAT team- Pradeep Muzoomdar, Apurva Kulkarni, and Rekha Patankar visited a Pada (Tribal habitat) at Aarey Milk Colony, Goregaon, Mumbai.

 

There the team met with Mr. Sailesh, who volunteers there to help kids there with their studies.

 

There are 32, ‘Padas’ inside Aarey Milk Colony.  Padas are of different sizes.  Sailesh volunteers for 2 padas.  One pada has about 65 kids, and other one has around 35.  UBAT team talked with Sailesh to see how they could help the tribal people of these 2 padas.  The outcome of the meeting was, ‘Aarey Milk Colony Pada’ Project; by which UBAT will provide free fruits once every month on its second Sunday.  Fruits will be given based on the headcount of kids.  Each kid will be provided 6 bananas, 6 oranges, and 2 apples.  Type of fruit may change based on season and availability.

 

The cost of fruits per month would be roughly between Rs. 12,000/- and Rs. 14,000/-

 

Apurva and Rekha are designated to be Executive and Lead Volunteers for this project.  This project will continue at least for 3 years.

10-June-2017 Inauguration

Uthistaa Bhumi Ashram Trust (UBAT) celebrated its Inauguration on Saturday, 10^th June 2017 at Borivali, Mumbai.

 

The program started with an introduction of Pradeep B. Muzoomdar, Founder and Trustee of UBAT.  That was followed by an hour long presentation by the founder, and a question answer session after that.

 

Some other Trustees and Executives of UBAT; Apurva Kulkarni, Devaray Nayak, Anand Dhareshwar, Ajit Suryavanshi, Ramesh Kandikatla, Sachin Deshpande, Rekha Patankar, and Dayanand Wagle were also present in the event.

 

The Chief Guest of the event was Dr. Rekha Talmaki, is a retired professor and a long time social worker, specializing in the area of empowering Tribal Women.  Dr. Talmaki gave a valuable speech on the vision and philosophy of UBAT; followed by suggestions and guidance to the UBAT team.

 

Anand Dhareshwar conveyed vote of gratitude to all speakers, volunteers, and guests.  The event concluded with dinner.
